Dayanand ayurvedic college & hospital is the first institution on the globe, which started the teaching of Ayurveda in an institutional way 123 years back in 1898 in lahore (undivided india). Before its perception ayurveda was being taught through guru shishya parampara (teacher/student). Dayanand Ayurvedic College & Hospital has following departments:

DEPARTMENTAL HIGHLIGHTS

AUDIO-VISUAL AIDS : The college has a number of video-cassettes & slides for making learning easier and interesting in different subjects like Anatomy, Physiology Dravyagun, Ras-shastra, Surgery, Panchkarma and Pathology, Video Cassette payer, Colour T.V. and Projector-all these are available for different departments.

DISSECTION HALL : The dept. of Rachna Sharir has ample facilities for dissection of dead bodies in its dissection hall with attached preservation room etc.

ANATOMY MUSEUM : The dept. of Rachna Sharir has a well equipped museum having a number of models, specimens & photographs on the subject.

PHYSIOLOGY LABORATORY : The dept. of Kriya Sharir has well equipped physiology laboratory for conducting all the practicals related to the subject.

PATHOLOGY LABORATORY : The dept. of Rog. & Vikriti Vigyan has a pathology lab. which not only provides facilities for training students but also serves the attached hospital through all kinds of haematological, biochemical, serological, urine, semen, stool and sputum investigations. All the tests are performed with latest techniques.

RAS SHASTRA MUSEUM : In this museum, under the dept. of Ras Shastra and Bhaishjya Kalpana, various raw drugs of mineral and animal origin as well as their formulations have been exihibited. Students learn Ayurvedic pharmaceutical procedures in the dept.

TOXICOLOGY AND JURISPRUDENCE MUSEUM : Various poisonous drugs and a number of models and charts concerning medical jurisprudence have been displayed in the museum under the dept. of Agad Tantra & Vyavharayurved. Students are given practical exposure to the medicolegal cases in the district courts.

DRAVYAGUN MUSEUM AND HERBAL GARDEN : Deptt. of Dravyaguna has museum where samples of various dry herbal drugs have been displayed for their proper identification along with herbarium. A herbal garden has also been developed in the college campus for identification of green plants. A new green house has been added in the herbal garden thus adding new more varieties of plants.

OPERATION THEATRE : The dept. of Shalya tantra, Shalakya Tantra & obstetrics have a well equipped operation theatre.

BLOOD DONATION : The college arranges blood donation and group identification camps in which students participate enthusiastically.
